I adhere to the multiple aspects of privacy law that all website owners must comply with when handling personal information.

 

What type of information do you collect?

I collect the following minimal information:

Information related to your enquiry (e.g. word count, nature of project)

 

How do you collect information?

When you send a message through my website’s contact form, as part of the process, I collect personal information you give me such as your name, address and email address. Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated next only.

 

Why do you collect such personal information?

I gather and use certain information about you in order to:

  • respond to your requests for information (e.g. my availability or a quote for proofreading)

  • contact you during an ongoing editing project

  • enable certain functions on this website

  • better understand how visitors use this website

 

How do you store, use, share and disclose your site visitors' personal information?

My business is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides me with the online platform that allows me to promote my services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

The data I collect is used as follows:

  • For my accounting processes (e.g. so I can invoice you)

  • To contact you in response to your enquiry or booking.

  • To record your agreement to the terms and conditions of my editorial services.

I will never use this data for marketing or promotion purposes without getting your permission in writing first (e.g. to publish your testimonial for me).

I will never share this data with anyone, unless you request that I do so in writing, or HMRC chooses to audit my business.

 

How do you communicate with your site visitors?

I may contact you to troubleshoot problems with your account, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about my business, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce any agreement I may have with you. For these purposes I may contact you via email, telephone, text messages, and postal mail.

 

How do you use cookies and other tracking tools?

A cookie is a small file placed on your computer’s hard drive. It enables my website to identify your computer as you view different pages on my website.

The web analytics platform I used is Google Analytics.
